One of the best fast bowler in the world Wahab Riaz has announced his retirement from international cricket. He has made significant contributions to team Pakistan and has won the heart of many fans. Wahab will continue playing for franchise cricket, his fans must be eagerly waiting to see him return; he last played in the PSL a few months back.

Wahab has been playing cricket for almost 15 years and above; From the 91 ODI matches he played he took 120 wickets and his best bowling figures were 5/46. In the T20 format he played 36 matches and took 34 wickets and his best bowling figures were 3/18 and as far as test matches are concerned, he has played 27 matches, taken 83 wickets and his best bowling figures were 5/63.

It is worth knowing that Wahab Riaz is one of the few bowlers in the world to bowl above 147kmph. Wahab Riaz’s bowling has been a nightmare for many batsmens and it will be interesting to see if he can maintain the same pressure in the future matches.

Wahab Riaz took the time to publicly announce his retirement via twitter; he confirmed that he will continue playing for franchise cricket. "I have been speaking about my retirement plans past two years, that 2023 is my target to retire from International cricket, and I feel comfortable now more than ever that I have served my country and National team to the best I could have,” Riaz said, as quoted by espncricinfo.com. “It has been an honor and a privilege to represent Pakistan on the international stage.

As I bid farewell to this chapter, I am thrilled to embark on a new adventure in franchise cricket, where I hope to entertain and inspire audiences while competing against some of the best talents in the world". Here’s the tweet he posted a few hours ago:

Once the world cup 2023 ends we will be seeing a lot more players retiring, the emerging Pakistani bowlers will always look up to Wahab Riaz.
