Anrich Nortje could be an important link for South Africa in the match against India. "I think what we've seen the last few games, it's been a really good wicket, lots of pace and bounce. We're just going to identify what is a good length and a good line on the day and try and stick to that," Nortje said, as quoted by cricbuzz.com "Not try and do anything fancy ...
Try and stick to our basics and sort of restrict - get as many wickets as possible, obviously, but restrict the runs as much as possible. "We see ourselves as one of the best base attacks there is. I think we're definitely going to back ourselves.
We have a great variety. We cover a lot of aspects. We cover a lot of bases with our attack. Definitely as a pace attack, we definitely back ourselves against any team to go out and do what we have to do on the day to try and get over the line,"
Nortje talked about bouncers. "Hopefully in the future, we can bowl two bouncers an over. But when you've got one bouncer, you have to time it properly. Not to get too carried away. Sometimes it can laook nice but it's not effective.
Try to be calm in situations when adrenaline is flowing."
Anrich Nortje on his team
The South African team has quality, but they must give their best. "There are possibilities of other games being rained out," Nortje said.
"We can just try and win all of our games and make it easier for ourselves. We can't bank on other games being rained out. We could go through, or we could win all of our games and that makes things simple where you know what to do on a day-by-day basis to make it easier for ourselves.
"We have to take victories as they come because we can't bank on another game being rained out next week to get through. When we have the opportunity to get a big win and get the net run rate up, we have to do so as soon as possible.
"We've been saying that for the past two seasons, including last year's World Cup where we only lost one game. It's a really good team and the guys have been together for a while now. Everyone knows where they fit in, and so do the guys that come in.
Everyone knows what to do on the day and it's a factor that we've been playing for such a long time and guys have been gelling really well. Hopefully we can win the cup this season."
