Dillian Whyte will defend his WBC title against Wallin

A very interesting boxing match was arranged in the heavyweight category. Dillian Whyte (28-2-0, 19 KOs) will defend the WBC heavyweight champion’s temporary belt on October 30 in London against Swede Otto Wallin (22-1-0, 14 KOs).

These are two boxers who are highly ranked according to the Boxrec rankings. Whyte thus ranks second in the rankings just behind Joshua while Wallin is in 13th place. The 30-year-old Wallin suffered the only defeat of his career against Tyson Fury in 2019.

"Gypsy King" had a problem with Swede, gave him a big cut above his right eye, but in the end, the Briton celebrated with a unanimous decision. They criticized Fury before that fight for fighting an immature opponent, but Wallin put himself on the map of world boxing with a brave and good performance and it could be said that he won more with that defeat than with the previous 20 victories.

After the defeat against Fury, Wallin returned to winning ways by defeating Travis Kauffman and Dominic Breazeale. Now a new big match in his career awaits him.

With the exception of Boxrec, if we take into account the ranking rankings of boxing associations, Wallin is ranked in the Top 15 only by the IBF and ranks 12th there.

A win against Whyte would push him to the very top of the heavyweight division. Dillian Whyte turned into one of the best heavyweights in the world. He lost twice in his career, but against great boxers like Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin.

Ho got the revenge against Povetkin and this is currently the last match he played (in March this year). With the exception of Povetkin, Whyte has defeated names such as Dereck Chisora, Joseph Parker, Oscar Rivas, Mariusz Wach, etc.

The Briton wants to get involved at the very top of the heavyweight division and hopes to fight heavyweight bests like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Deontay Wilder. Still, before that, he will have to defeat the dangerous Wallin.

Since we know the quality of both fighters, most expect a great match in which both will show how capable they are for the title. Whyte is a favorite to most, but Wallin has shown over the course of his career how dangerous an opponent he is and how much trouble he can create for anyone.

The aforementioned fight against Fury is the best indicator of his strength. We certainly expect a great match, in which both fighters will be maximally motivated
