After doing a rather bizarre exhibition match against former teen music star Aaron Carter on June 12, in which he was 25 centimeters taller and thirty kilograms heavier than his opponent, Lamar Odom will perform four months later in a new boxing match.
It was announced via TMZ, ie a video in which the former basketball player is with Damon Feldman, the owner of the Celebrity Boxing organization. They announced that Lamar had signed a contract to perform on October 10 in Miami.
He did not reveal his opponent, saying that he is negotiating with several celebrities, but from his posts on Instagram, it is easy to conclude against whom the former champion would like to see Feldman. That would be current NBA basketball player Tristan Thompson, and the link between the two is Khloe Kardashian.
He was married to Rob and Kris Kardashian's daughter from 2009 to 2016. It was a turbulent period with several breakups and reconciliations all the way to divorce. Thompson has been in short relationships with Khloe several times since then, and it is assumed that they are still seeing each other.
The two have already had several disagreements, the last after Lamar reacted on Instagram with a positive commentator to a photo of his ex-wife in a bikini. Thompson thus told him that only God had brought him back alive for the first time, but that if he continued to play it would be a different result.
He was alluding to the event from May 2019, when Odom suffered 12 strokes and six heart attacks under the influence of opiates, and according to the doctors, he miraculously survived.
Damon Feldman is the brother of David Feldman, the owner of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship organization, but he has been in this business much longer.
He is a former professional boxer, and in 2002 he started the Celebrity Boxing organization, in collaboration with FOX television. He has organized several shows that aired on that channel, with performances by mostly stumbled sports or media stars, such as rapper Vanilla Ice, basketball giant Manute Bol or skater Tony Harding.
Following the recent events triggered by the entry of Logan Paul into boxing and all that followed, he decided to revive his promotion, and the number of interested "celebrities" to perform is growing. Lamar Odom is the winner of two NBA rings with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he was also the best sixth player in the league.
He was also a member of the U.S. national team, with whom he took world gold and Olympic bronze. The 30-year-old Thompson is currently a member of the Boston Celtics and was also an NBA champion, in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
