Mike Tyson: "On May 29th I will challenge Holyfield!"

After the come back to the ring in November against Roy Jones, Mike Tyson confirmed in a live Instagram the match with Evander Holyfield. It will be on Memorial Day weekend, on Mayth 29 at the Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.

Holyfield's manager said: "We thought it was a deal already concluded, but then Tyson declined" Mike added: "Holyfield is a humble man, a man of God, but I am the man of God. On May 29th I will win."

With Martin Scorsese as producer, Jamie Foxx as actor and Antoine Fuqua behind the camera have begun work on a television miniseries inspired by the life of the former world heavyweight champion. Mike said about the project: "For some time I have been looking for someone who could tell my story and given the excitement of the fans following the my return in November, I think it's the right time.

I look forward to collaborating with geniuses like Martin, Jamie and Antoine to offer the public a TV series that reconstructs my professional and personal path, but also that can inspire and entertain." Considered one of the best heavyweights in boxing history and among the most recognizable and paid athletes of the eighties and nineties, despite the low height for the category, Tyson, thanks to his remarkable physical prowess, was one of the most effective and fearsome hunters in the history of the division.

He occupies the 16th position on The Ring's 100 Greatest Hunters Ever, and 1st in that of ESPN's Greatest Heavyweight Hunters. Sky Sports named him the most fearsome boxer ever and described him as arguably the Fiercest fighter to ever set foot in a ring.

Also known for his behavior both in and out of the ring, he was rated by ESPN as the worst sportsman of the past 25 years. He was named fighter of the year by Ring Magazine in 1986 and 1988, and is inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Tyson won his first 19 fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round. In 1986, at the age of 20, 4 months and 22 days, he won the WBC crown against Trevor Berbick, becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in the world, a record that still remains unbeaten.

The boxing match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield was held in Paradise, Nevada, near Las Vegas on Saturday, November 9, 1996. Holyfield won the world title for the third time, reaching the record of The Greatest. In the post-match press conference, Tyson praised him: "Thank you very much.

I have the utmost respect for you." The rematch was again held in Las Vegas, June 28, 1997: even in that case the victory went to the reigning champion Holyfield, who won the match due to the disqualification of Mike Tyson in the 3rd round, following repeated attempts by Tyson himself to bite the opponent's ear.
