One of the best boxing matches of the year has been officially been signed! The much-awaited clash between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney is set to take place on 20th of April. Both fighters don’t really have much respect for each other, so fans who like trash-talking and heated moments are in for a treat.

Devin Haney’s WBC belt is on the line; it will be fascinating to see if Haney is successful in defending his belt. After the Gervonta Davis fight, this is Garcia’s second golden opportunity to flip his career around.

A win could allow him to demand a rematch with Gervonta Davis.

Ryan Garcia on Devin Haney being nice to him

In a recent interview with Compas On The Beat, Ryan Garcia shared his thoughts on Devin Haney and explained why he’s fighting him instead of Rolly Romero.

“These dudes try to make you super soft by smiling in your face and be super nice to you, and then stab you in the back when it’s time,” Garcia said, as quoted by boxingnews24.com. “I’m not going to let that happen.

I see right through you. You’re a fake; you’re a phony. You’re dad’s a phony, and everyone around you is a phony. I talked to him on the phone, and he was being extra nice. I caught that. ‘Calm down, we’re not friends, bro.

Don’t try to soften me up. You’re a weirdo”.

Ryan Garcia on the Rolly Romero fight

“It’s signed, sealed, and delivered [the fight with Devin Haney]. Potentially, I left it to the fans. It was a close poll between Devin Haney and Rolly.

Obviously, Devin came out with the percentage on top, and I decided to make it happen.

Ryan Garcia on Rolly Romero turning down the fight

“You never heard a more dummy, who went from the main event to a random PPV card that nobody is going to watch and fumbled a bag of $20M+ to fight for peanuts”.
