The year 2024 seems to be a great one for all boxing fans, as some of the best matches are scheduled to take place this year. As far as the heavyweight division is concerned, Fans have been complaining for a very long time as their expected matches never materialized.

However, 2024 seems to be the year where all the desired fights will translate itself into reality. The matchmakers announced one of the long-awaited match: Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk. Eddie Hearn was ready to announce one more mega event of the year: Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua, but since Wilder lost his recent match, that match was immediately cancelled, and that’s how Francis Ngannou came into the picture.

Eddie Hearn has made the equation very simple: the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou will fight the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk. The odds are heavily stacked against Francis Ngannou, which appeared strange to many because of his dominating debut against Tyson Fury.

If AJ loses against Francis Ngannou, it will be marked as one of the biggest upsets in the history of boxing.

Eddie Hearn’s recent tweet

In a recent tweet, Eddie Hearn addressed the following: “Break down whatever you want.

His excellency confirmed the plan. Winner of #JoshuaNgannou v winner of #FuryUsyk - The dream has always been Undisputed and we are one win away for challenging for it. No problem with you preferring Parker or Zhang getting a shot at Undisputed over AJ!”.

Zhilei Zhang will face Joseph Parker on 8th March; their fight will be headlined as the co-main event. Zhang has constantly nagged about getting a fight with Tyson Fury or any other well-known heavyweight fight – this is a massive fight, but if he wants to achieve his goal of fighting AJ, Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury, a comprehensive win is definitely needed.
