Deontay Wilder didn't want to be negative after his loss to Joseph Parker. Although many expected that Wilder would have an easy task, he was aware from the first day that this match could be a double-edged sword. The victory guaranteed him a match with Anthony Joshua, but with a loss to Parker, Wilder's plans will obviously change. Wilder emphasized via Instagram that he was surprised considering that he did not show his qualities in the best way. He still has mixed emotions. Nevertheless, Deontay is an optimist and is already looking to the future and the next challenges that await him.

“We came up short [Saturday night]. I don’t know what happened, to be honest. My timing was off. I didn’t throw my punches. I didn’t let my hands go like I was supposed to. Sometimes, you get like that but… you live to see another fight. You live to see another moment. That’s all that matters.” - Wilder said in an Instagram reel, as reported by boxingscene.com!

His career mostly had an upward trajectory, but moments like this are good for individual fighters to realize that life is full of ups and downs. Wilder was aware of this from day one. Precisely because of this, he will continue to laugh, train, and believe that the future holds more beautiful stories for him.

“I’m still full of happiness. I’m still full of joy, still full of smiles. Sorry if I let anyone down. But we’ll be back, though. That’s the thing about it. I thank you so much for the love and support I’ve got in Riyadh and from my fans around the world. This is not the end. I will be back. Love, peace and God bless.”
