Until the fourth month of this year, Ryan Garcia enjoyed the status of an undefeated boxer (23-0 at the time) and was building his way to a world title. However, in the second half of the fourth month, Garcia boxed against Gervonta Davis and for the first time in his career he encountered an insurmountable obstacle.

Ryan Garcia is back in the ring. The guy who is often referred to as having the "fastest hands in the world" has successfully returned to winning ways. Garcia boxed at an event in Houston, and he defeated Oscar Duarte (26-2-1) by knockout in the eighth round.

"I have a killer instinct. When I shake someone that hard, I don't stop hitting. It was a simple technique. Front straight, one step away, he swung and I caught him with a left," Garcia said after the fight.

New coach

Garcia changed coaches after losing to Gervont Davis earlier this year.

He now works with Derrick James, and James was a big factor in Garcia's win over Duarte. James advised Garcia to use his legs more, and that advice paid off in the eighth round. "I started using my legs. Derrick James was telling me, 'Man, start using your legs, it's going to open up space for you to shoot.'

I literally did it. Respect to Derrick James. We've been working hard, and now we're going to build on the foundation of this win and get even better," Garcia said.

Garcia's next opponent

Garcia is now looking to get back into the mix for a world title.

He is one of the most popular boxers in the world, and is sure to be a big draw for a big fight in the near future. It is unclear who Garcia will fight next. However, there are a number of potential opponents for him. Garcia could fight former world champion Jorge Linares or former world title challenger Joseph Diaz.

He could also take on up-and-coming contender Isaac Cruz. Regardless of who Garcia fights next, he's sure to be in for a tough fight. Garcia is a talented boxer, but he also faces some of the best competition in the world. Garcia is still young and has a lot of potential to be a great boxer even though he is already one of the best. He has the skills, power and charisma to be a superstar.
