Former world boxing champion Shannon Briggs, aged 51, is gearing up for a spectacular comeback, fueled by an undiminished passion for the sport. The Brooklyn-native, who shares his roots with legendary Mike Tyson, is eager to step into the ring once again after a seven-year hiatus.

His last bout in May 2016 ended emphatically with a knockout victory over Emilio Zarate in the first round, showcasing Briggs' enduring power. Throughout his illustrious career, Briggs faced formidable opponents such as George Foreman, Francois Botha, and Ray Mercer.

Notably, he suffered knockout defeats at the hands of Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko. Briggs gained recognition for his bold challenges, including a memorable callout to then-unified champion Wladimir Klitschko. Undeterred by the passage of time, Briggs is steadfast in his conviction that he hasn't lost his strength.

He attributes his prolonged prowess to an unmatched dedication to training and an unyielding fighting spirit. Addressing his prolonged absence from the ring, Briggs asserted, "The only reason why I haven't already returned to the ring is that no one will fight me.

They were scared." The veteran pugilist, with a physique that defies his age, is contemplating an exhibition match against former UFC champion Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson. This potential bout is generating considerable excitement within the combat sports community.

Briggs is not content with mere exhibition matches; his sights are set on the heavyweight title. Expressing his ambitious comeback plan, he declared, "I'm coming back. It's my first fight. My goal is to box at least ten more matches.

I want to get back in shape; it will take me a year or two for that, and then I want to start something big. I want a real opponent." His unwavering goal includes a shot at the championship belt, demonstrating that age is no deterrent to his aspirations of reclaiming boxing glory.

As the boxing world eagerly awaits the return of Shannon Briggs, the narrative of his comeback becomes a testament to the resilience and determination that define the spirit of a seasoned champion.
