Politics and sports should not mix, yet the world's greatest athletes often speak out about difficult political issues. After the attack by the militant Palestinian group Hamas on Israel, many athletes and public figures spoke out about this issue.

Opinions are different, and social networks are overflowing with comments of support for one side or the other, unlike the war in Ukraine, where the majority of the world public and famous personalities sided with Ukraine.

One of the greatest boxers of all time, Floyd Mayweather, spoke about the current situation in Israel, where there is a war going on against the militant Palestinian group Hamas, which committed a terrible war crime on October 7 and started a bloody conflict against Israelis.

Indeed, this, according to many, the best boxer of all time has almost never spoken out about political issues, but considering his close connection with Israel, this time he decided to give his support to Israel.

Mayweather hopes for an imminent end to the war

Mayweather openly sided with Israel and said that Hamas does not represent the people of Palestine and that Hamas is a terrorist group that attacks innocent people.

He mostly received support for his statement, while some commented that he should not have advertised about political issues and ruined his reputation. "I stand with Israel against Hamas terrorists. Hamas does not represent the people of Palestine, but a terrorist group that attacks innocent people.

I stand with all people and wish a happy return to all Americans and Israelis and all people who were kidnapped as hostages during this horrible war crime This is not the time for politics. This is the time for safety first and foremost.

May God bless America and Israel, may God bless human kindness," Mayweather said on his Instagam post. How will this affect the popularity of the American boxer in Arab countries, where boxing is very popular, as is Mayweather himself. We sincerely hope that this war will end quickly in order to stop the killing of innocent civilians on both sides.
