Oscar De La Hoya: Alvarez will have a problem if Charlo uses Bivol tactics

Oscar De La Hoya gave interesting advice to Jermell Charlo. De La Hoya believes that Charlo must adopt the same style as Bivol in order to defeat Alvarez. Although many expected Canelo Alvarez to have an easy task against Dmitry Bivol, the Russian boxer managed to win.
Charlo certainly had a lot to learn from that fight. "Any style that you give Canelo that is similar to a Bivol, he’s gonna have trouble with,” De La Hoya told FightHubTV, as quoted by boxingscene.com! “Anyone that stays on their toes, anyone that flicks a jab in front of his face, anyone that knows how to keep the distance, like Bivol did, Canelo will have trouble."
De La Hoya on Alvarez's tactic
Alvarez has used the same tactics for years.
De La Hoya seems to think he's done with that. Charlo must have already done a lot of analysis of his opponent. “That’s the bottom line. Again, he walks on quicksand. That’s what his style is. It worked for him all these years.
He has become accustomed to knocking his opponents out, walking them down, with a lot of power. Anyone that tries to box him, and have that same, similar style as Bivol, he’s gonna have trouble with”. Keeping distance will be one of the most important elements in this fight if it is to be judged by the words of La Hoya.
We will see if this great boxer will listen to De La Hoya's advice and achieve victory. “He can take advantage of it (Alvarez), Charlo, if he knows how to use his distance. The distance you get with his feet, the distance you obviously use with your jab, you keep your distance.
But if you know how to combine the footwork with your jab or your right hand or your combinations then it’s a perfect combination to win the fight against Canelo”.
