The heavyweight spectacle Andy Ruiz Jr has not made an appearance this year; he last fought against Luiz Ortiz in September 2022, where he secured a unanimous decision win. Watch the entire match highlights below: Ruiz Jr has built his winning momentum after facing a tough loss against Anthony Joshua in the rematch.

Since he has been inactive for about a year, fans worldwide are questioning his absence. Ruiz Jr declared that he is open to fighting anyone; if a match is not happening, it is because of the opponent’s unwillingness to show up.

Andy Ruiz has a professional boxing record of 35-2 (22 knockouts), he is a few steps away from becoming the heavyweight champion of the world, and it will be interesting to see if he can cultivate and maintain the hunger to be the champion.

Andy Ruiz Jr on his return

In a recent Instagram post, Andy Ruiz Jr said the following: “Everybody’s asking, ‘When am I fighting? When am I gonna fight? Why don’t I fight Wilder?’ Nobody wants to fight!

I’m staying ready, baby!” Ruiz Jr said, as quoted by badlefthook.com. “Tell Joshua, let’s do the trilogy! Tell Wilder I’m ready! Make me another contract! Usyk, Tyson Fury, everybody wants to go through the shortcuts, but I’m here, baby, we’re working”.

There has been an ongoing discussion for a match between Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jr, but nothing concrete has been disclosed yet. The fact that he demanded another contract from Deontay Wilder’s team clearly indicates that there was a negotiation clash, and if that is the case, he shouldn’t say that “nobody wants to fight”.

If a fight between Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jr gets finalized, it could most likely take place in December in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. If not Wilder, it could be either Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk.
