Oleksandr Usyk secures a controversial win against Daniel Dubois

The heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his heavyweight title against Daniel Dubois with a 9th round TKO victory. It was a soft knockout; it looked like Dubois could have continued but seemed to be both physically and mentally done.

It is worth knowing that if the referee's counted that as a legal punch, Daniel Dubois would be the new heavyweight champion of the world.

Usyk, in the post fight interview, said the following sarcastically when asked for a rematch: "I'm ready for rematch tomorrow in a street fight. I'm ready". Here's what the 9th round knockout looked like:

Usyk's post-fight interview

Usyk seems to be pleased with the win and reveals who he wants to fight next after he's done recovering.

"I feel good. I'm grateful for my team, my family, my children. I love you. I'm grateful for my country and the Ukrainian army. Thank you so much," Usyk said, as quoted by skysports.com. "Boxing is a tough sport, but I am great. It's boxing.

I love boxing. I respect my opponent, but it's boxing, not ballet. It's a king's sport". Usyk on what he wants next: "I'm ready, next fight, I'm ready to fight Tyson Fury. I can't wait to see my children, I can't wait to get home.

I miss my family. I've been in training for ages, I am a little bit tired. Now, I'll go rest, sleep and eat. Drink sparkling water". If Tyson Fury claims an enormous win against Francis Ngannou, there is no reason for him to not fight Usyk.

The boxing world has been eagerly waiting for that heavyweight clash, and hopefully, in the near future, there won't be any negotiation complexities.
