Tyson Fury is the man who currently rules the boxing scene at the moment. His abilities are something special and many believe that there is no opponent out there at the present time who can match his qualities. There was mention that Oleksandr Usyk was among the fastest to be able to accomplish this, but unfortunately the fight between the two crumbled, because an agreement was not able to be reached between the two sides.
Peter Fury, Tyson's uncle who was also his trainer, spoke about potential challenges for Tyson. During an interview Peter gave to the media, he revealed who might be a threat to Tyson, and he mentioned Oleksandr Usyk as the first name that came to mind.
“Tyson’s definitely above Joshua and Wilder, but Usyk’s a different ball game. He’s a tough fight for anybody. He’s not a walk in the park and he’s not a small heavyweight. That’s a close call, that fight.
That could go either way, Usyk is a dangerous operator. I think everybody in Tyson’s team will even know that, so he’s not to be overlooked. Usyk belongs where he is, he’s a serious fighter. Styles make fights – they just need to get it on."- he said, as quoted by boxing-social.com
John Fury on collapse of the fight
Many hope that we will soon see a fight between these two giants of the boxing scene.
Tyson Fury's father, John, spoke about the reasons for the collapse of the fight between Fury and Usyk. "I just think basically Usyk's team have had a better offer from Saudi and I wouldn't be surprised if he boxes Deontay Wilder for them belts.
Usyk was going to earn 30 per cent to box Tyson and that is still a lot of money. That is probably his career-highest payday, Tyson brings in the people and the numbers and he was engaging in that fight.
